SRO motor-sports group is a company specialising in the promotion and organisation of motor-sports series. Although primarily concerned with GT racing, with whose revival in the 1990’s SRO was inextricably linked, SRO also promotes multi-platform events, such as the FFSA super-series and the British F3-GT series.
SRO has offices in London, Paris, Belgium and Germany as well as partners in Latin America.
SRO promotes nine championships and series, including the FIA GT championship, the FIA GT3 European championship, the GT4 European cup, the FFSA French GT championship, the British GT championship, the British F3 international series, the ADAC GT masters, the Belgian GT championship and the GT revival 90s series. SRO is also a partner in the Le Mans series as well as the Brazilian GT3 championship.
Mike Scott is the head of Broadcast for the SRO and needed a system that allowed edit capability for pre show clips and highlights for the broadcast race series. All suites needed to be networked to allow the digitised clips to be available to all users.
Previously Mike had headed up the A1GP race series and had a similar solution designed and created by GBLabs in conjunction with one of their UK resellers - so he didn't even contemplate approaching other solution providers. “Ben and Dominic are the most knowledgeable out there when it comes to Final Cut Pro, SANs and they appreciate how the broadcast industry works”.
“The Space solution” explained Mike “has saved us a fortune in not having to hire kit in the myriad of countries we visit. Also, we know that when it comes out of the flight cases it just works. On the odd occasion there has been a hiccup, the team were available to help either on the phone or remotely which is a massive plus, bearing in mind that we broadcast from race circuits all over the world”.
