The announcement of the integration of Focalpoint Server with GB Labs' SPACE central storage marks the coming together of the break-through project management solution with SPACE’s fast and scalable networked storage.
The combination of the software with SPACE multi-tier storage means that workgroups have complete control over editing jobs and very fast data transfer, facility-wide. With Focalpoint Server, each project is created in the appropriate location with sharing rights controlled by administrators. Automated back-up routines and project archiving onto GB Labs' ECHO nearline or LTO systems is made fast and secure. The status of projects can be tracked in real-time and team members prompted to join the editing process at the right time and with the appropriate level of access rights.
“We are partnering with SPACE because, like Focalpoint, its network storage is designed to make life easy: it enables the fast and seamless transfer of data from tier one to tier two arrays, encouraging users to actively manage projects and intelligently organise their storage. Combined, Focalpoint and SPACE make editors more efficient, creative and productive.” Said Ken Bell of Focalpoint.
Ben Pearce of GB Labs comments “We are delighted to partner with Focalpoint. Tapeless production and collaborative editing can easily lead to data overload. With SPACE and Focalpoint Server, it is easier and faster than ever to consolidate projects, manage files and use storage really efficiently.”
