Storage: the invisible friend
Ultra HD - 4K resolution and high dynamic range - is now a reality, and the norm for premium quality production, in drama, entertainment and sport. Augmented reality is also being widely used and, while a lot of the production is live with virtual elements generated in real time, the data to build the models has to be managed.
What these file formats have in common is that they involve very high data rates, another big leap up from HD.
