GB Labs Launches FastNAS Gen 3: A New Era in High-Performance, Scalable Media Storage
VALENCIA, CA — June 25, 2025 — GB Labs is proud to announce the launch of FastNAS Gen 3, a major evolution of its industry-leading media NAS platform. Purpose-built for creative professionals, post-production teams, educational institutions, and corporate media departments, FastNAS Gen 3 sets a new standard in performance, value, and flexibility.
Meet the New FastNAS
The performance improvements in FastNAS Gen 3 go far beyond raw speed - they unlock entirely new workflows and creative possibilities. Thanks to its upgraded architecture, users can confidently manage more connected workstations, higher bitrate codecs, and demanding formats such as 4K and even 8K. The increased power also enhances the responsiveness of other key tools like Mosaic, GB Labs’ integrated asset tracking system, and Unify Hub, which bridges home and remote users into a centralized workflow. Additionally, FastNAS Gen 3 offers robust resources for cloud connectivity, with seamless integration into platforms such as NebulaNAS and modern AI-powered services.
FastNAS has long been recognized as the leading media NAS solution for professional environments. Trusted across the post-production, corporate, and education sectors, it is designed to support virtually all major creative applications and a wide range of professional codecs. Whether deployed by a small production team or a larger collaborative studio, FastNAS is optimized to support up to 40 users, model dependent, with the performance and reliability required for demanding media work.
Rewriting the Rulebook on Media NAS Pricing
What makes FastNAS Gen 3 truly stand out is not just its performance but where it lands on the pricing spectrum. Today, media professionals are often forced to choose between two extremes: expensive, media-specific systems that strain budgets, or general-purpose IT NAS solutions that lack the performance and features required for high-end media workflows.
FastNAS Gen 3 has been strategically priced to sit right between those two markets, giving customers the best of both worlds. Though just a modest step up from traditional IT NAS pricing, users gain a fully-featured, high-performance media NAS built specifically for creative environments. There’s no need to compromise on capability or overspend on bespoke solutions, FastNAS Gen 3 delivers professional-grade storage at a price point that makes real sense.
Designed with longevity and adaptability in mind, FastNAS Gen 3 is engineered to evolve with users’ needs. Its powerful hardware and modular design ensure compatibility with future software updates and emerging technologies. The system also supports dynamic, cost-effective expansion through integration with FastNAS EX units, making it easy to scale storage as demands grow, without the need to replace the core infrastructure.
Whether users are operating a traditional on-premise workflow or preparing to transition to hybrid or remote production, FastNAS Gen 3 is ready. With built-in support for NebulaNAS, Unify Hub, and other cloud technologies, users can flexibly adapt their workflows, from local collaboration to fully remote, globally distributed teams.
FastNAS Gen 3 is available for immediate delivery and ships with CORE.5.5 OS, the latest evolution of GB Labs’ intelligent operating system. Built on a new kernel, CORE.5.5 OS brings enhancements in system performance, file sharing efficiency and enterprise-grade security.
